Common Questions Answered

Getting Started

How do I get started?

+

Simply give us a call at (413) 644-9960 or send an email to contact@wingateltd.com. We'll schedule an initial consultation to discuss your vision, budget, and timeline. You can also visit our showroom at 420 Stockbridge Rd, Suite 1, Great Barrington, MA.

Can I visit your showroom?

+

Absolutely. Our showroom at 420 Stockbridge Rd., Suite 1 in Great Barrington is open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. Come browse furnishings, lighting, rugs, and more.

Budget & Pricing

How much does an interior design project cost?

+

Every project is unique, so pricing varies based on scope, materials, and timeline. We work with a range of budgets and provide a detailed proposal after our initial consultation so there are no surprises.

When is the best time to hire a designer?

+

A kitchen that's ready for hosting in December means design decisions in August — if everything moves on schedule. If you love the idea of family gathered in a new kitchen while it snows outside, reach out early. We'll tell you what's actually possible.

Process & Timeline

What can I expect during a remodel project?

+

The team moves through your home thoughtfully. You'll see the same people, week to week, and they'll know your layout better than you do by week three. Our job isn't done until you walk through the door and feel at home — not like a magazine shoot.

Do you handle permits and contractors?

+

Yes. As a design-build firm, we manage every aspect of your project — from permits and contractor coordination to final styling. You get one point of contact throughout the entire process.

How long does the planning phase take?

+

Every project is unique, so timelines vary. A single-room refresh might take a few weeks of planning, while a full design-build renovation could require several months. We'll discuss your vision and provide a clear timeline during our initial consultation.

About Wingate

What services does Wingate Ltd. offer?

+

As a full-service design company with a showroom, our offerings include interior design, design-build, landscape architecture, kitchen and bath remodeling, custom cabinetry and furniture, home furnishings, lighting, rugs, antiques, and estate sales.

Why is hiring a designer more valuable than a DIY approach?

+

A designer doesn't just finish your room faster — she finishes it differently. She knows which builder won't cut corners on baseboards. She finds the rug that works at 7am when light pours across the floor and still feels right at 8pm. At Wingate, she also has a workshop and a crew who've worked on her projects before, so they know her standard. That continuity changes everything.

What are the benefits of custom-designed furniture?

+

Custom furniture is built to last using top-quality materials, designed by hand and crafted by master woodworkers. Each piece is tailored to your space and style, resulting in timeless pieces that make your home feel like it was always meant to look this way.

Do you work outside the Berkshires?

+

While we're based in Great Barrington, MA, we've completed projects throughout the Northeast — including Connecticut, Saratoga, and Manhattan — as well as further afield in Florida and other locations. If you have a project in mind, reach out regardless of where it is.
